As the federal shutdown continues, families across Hays and Caldwell Counties are facing uncertainty, from missed paychecks to suspended SNAP and TANF benefits. For many of our neighbors, that means choosing between paying bills or putting food on the table.
At United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties, we’re stepping up by launching the For Our Neighbors Fund, a coordinated community effort with the Hays County Food Bank, San Marcos and Hays County leaders, the San Marcos Community Foundation, and San Marcos CISD.
100% of all donations will go directly to the Hays County Food Bank to support local students, families, and individuals impacted by the loss of federal assistance, providing essential food relief and helping expand operations during this critical time.
This fund represents our shared commitment to stand together, take care of one another, and ensure every neighbor has what they need, not just today but in any crisis to come.
